Yes. Cats adopted through Wake County Animal Center are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and receive other basic veterinary care before adoption. Specific medical information will be included in each cat's adoption profile.

Adoption fees are set by Wake County Animal Center and are subject to change. At the time of writing, standard adoption fees are generally:

  • $95 for dogs
  • $45 for cats under 5 years old
  • $15 for senior cats (5+ years old)

Please refer to Wake County Animal Center for the most up-to-date adoption fee information, as fees and special promotions may change throughout the year.

The final hand-off happens at Wake County Animal Shelter, where you'll meet your new companion and take them home.

We keep it small — usually just two or three — so each one gets plenty of love while they wait for their family.
